A game jam is an event where you form a team and create a game over the course of a weekend. We announce a theme at the start of the jam on Friday evening. Teams create a new original game based on that theme within the next 48 hours.

The 2017 Athens Game Jam will take place at The Center for Community Preservation & Design, located at 225 West Broad Street. If you attended the 2016 Athens Game Jam it's the same location. On google maps it's labeled Environmental Design Studios.

We will provide food at the event so that you can concentrate on creating your game without leaving the venue. The Athens Game Jam is a nonprofit event and we are happy to be able to make the event free, but we ask that you please consider making a donation. Donations will allow us provider more and higher quality food.

The Athens Game Jam is also a competition. There will be prizes. Donations will also allow us to have better prizes. We will also happily accept cash donations at the event.
