COVID-19 Business Resources for Game Studios and Developers

OSHA Checklist for Reopening Businesses. This checklist is the starting point for reopening your studio.

Payroll Protection Program. This new low-interest loan program from the Small Business Administration is especially attractive because you might not have to repay some of it if you keep paying employees for the next few months. THIS VIDEO helps explain the program.

SBA Loans. You may qualify for low-interest small business administration loans to help cover payroll. The above video also addresses this program; as a Georgia business, you can apply for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans until the December 18 deadline, HERE. Synovus (this is not a recommendation to bank with them) has a comparison of the two SBA programs HERE.

FMLA. We have gotten a number of questions about the Family Medical Leave Act, partially because of all the proposed changes being reported. Personal Taxes. The federal government and the state of Georgia have extended the time you have to file AND pay your income taxes until July 15. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/payment-deadline-extended-to-july-15-2020 Georgia has extended the time you have to file state taxes until July 15.

C Corp Taxes. The federal government has also extended the date for C Corps to pay their taxes until July 15, 2020.
