August 20, 2026

We are very happy to announce the return of Chad Mossholder to SIEGE - this time as keynote! One of our most popular past speakers, you can see his Philosophy of the Doom Soundscape HERE.

Chad Mossholder is a BAFTA-nominated sound designer with more than 25 years of experience in game audio, experimental music, and audio/visual art. He spent the last 12 years at id Software helping shape the sound of the modern DOOM franchise, with credits including DOOM, DOOM Eternal, DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Parts One and Two, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations. His work spans sound design, composition, implementation, weapons, creatures and bosses, UI, cinematics, narrative sequences, VO processing, music implementation, custom recording, synthesis, and interactive audio systems.

Before joining id Software, Chad worked on a wide range of large-scale online and AAA titles, including EverQuest, EverQuest II, Star Wars Galaxies, PlanetSide 2, and DC Universe Online. Across his game work, he has focused on creating sounds that are powerful, memorable, responsive, and deeply connected to the player experience.

Alongside his commercial game work, Chad has maintained a long-running practice in experimental electronic music and media art. His music project Twine has performed internationally and released albums, EPs, and mini-albums on labels including Schematic, Hefty Records, Bip-Hop Records, and Ghostly International. For more than 20 years, he has also collaborated with artist and writer Mark Amerika on works that explore sound, image, technology, AI, and experimental storytelling, including Immobilité, the first feature-length art film shot on a mobile phone.

Chad’s work moves between AAA game production, experimental sound, and contemporary media art, bringing together technical craft, sonic experimentation, and a deep interest in how sound shapes worlds, characters, and player experiences.
